Torneig de Bàsquet Base Ciutat d'Alaior

A Tournament with History

The basketball tradition in Menorca is consolidated with the 22nd edition of the Torneig de Bàsquet Base Ciutat d'Alaior.
A sporting event that combines passion, tradition, and youth in the heart of Menorca.

This tournament, held during the Easter school holidays, has as its main goal to promote grassroots sports among the cadet and infant categories, an objective that has been successfully achieved in previous editions. The city of Alaior is not just a place of competition, but becomes a basketball celebration, bringing together more than 1,800 people including players, coaches, and referees.

In last year’s edition, 120 teams participated with a total of 1,800 participants. Since the first edition, there have been 652 teams taking part, 441 of which came from outside the island, gathering a total of more than 10,000 players.

Previous editions witnessed companionship, sporting intensity, and exemplary coexistence among all participating teams. Moreover, beyond rivalry, this tournament has established itself as an event that drives local support, with more than one hundred local businesses supporting this basketball festival. With five venues spread across Menorca and wide representation from different regions, the next edition once again promises to be a milestone in youth basketball and a symbol of unity and passion for the sport.

Organized with great enthusiasm by C.B. Jovent d’Alaior, this tournament has the mission of promoting sport among young people, aiming to encourage grassroots basketball and healthy coexistence between categories.
